The Jharkhand Vigilance Bureau (JVB) has conducted raids at the properties linked to IAS Pooja Singhal and seized Rs 3 crore in cash and other valuables. The raids were conducted at Singhal’s residence in Ranchi and other properties in Jharkhand and Delhi.
The raids were conducted after the JVB received information that Singhal had amassed wealth disproportionate to her known sources of income. The raids were conducted by a team of JVB officers led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Rajiv Kumar.
The JVB team seized Rs 3 crore in cash, gold and silver jewellery, and documents related to properties owned by Singhal. The documents revealed that Singhal had purchased several properties in Jharkhand and Delhi. The JVB team also seized documents related to bank accounts and investments made by Singhal.
The JVB team also questioned Singhal’s family members and other associates. The JVB is now investigating the source of the wealth and the investments made by Singhal.
Singhal is a 2009 batch IAS officer and is currently posted as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training in the Government of India. She has previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi and the Secretary of the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
