George Russell, the young British driver, has backed his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton following an average season for the seven-time world champion.
Hamilton has had a difficult season, with the Mercedes team struggling to keep up with the pace of their rivals Red Bull. Hamilton has been unable to match the pace of Max Verstappen, who has won four races this season, and has been out-qualified by his teammate Valtteri Bottas in the last three races.
Despite the difficult season, Russell has backed his teammate and believes that Hamilton is still one of the best drivers in the world.
“Lewis is still one of the best drivers in the world,” Russell said. “He’s been through a lot this season and it’s been a difficult one for him. But he’s still a seven-time world champion and he’s still one of the best drivers out there. He’s still got a lot to give and I’m sure he’ll be back to his best soon.”
Russell also believes that Hamilton’s struggles this season are due to the fact that the Mercedes team has been unable to keep up with the pace of their rivals.
“It’s been a difficult season for Mercedes,” Russell said. “They’ve been unable to keep up with the pace of Red Bull and Ferrari, and that’s been a challenge for Lewis. But he’s still a great driver and I’m sure he’ll be back to his best soon.”
Russell also believes that Hamilton’s struggles this season have been due to the fact that he has been unable to get the most out of the car.
“Lewis is a great driver and he’s always been able to get the most out of the car,” Russell said. “But this season, he’s been unable to do that and that’s been a challenge for him. But I’m sure he’ll be back to his best soon.”
Russell’s comments come as a show of support for his teammate, and it is clear that he has a lot of respect for Hamilton. Hamilton is still one of the best drivers in the world, and it is clear that he will be back to his best soon.
