The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for “shaming” Anna Hazare, the veteran social activist who spearheaded the anti-corruption movement in 2011.
The BJP said that Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, two senior AAP leaders, should have resigned earlier in order to avoid the embarrassment caused to Hazare.
The BJP’s criticism comes after Hazare wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, expressing his disappointment over the AAP’s failure to fulfill its promises.
Hazare had said that he was “shocked” to see that the AAP had not fulfilled its promises of fighting corruption and providing good governance.
